This is a brand new course that just opened up last year - it's in great condition.  Check out the pictures on the website.

IF it rains we will plan to meet at the Somers Library in the regular kids section and play quiet board games and/or cards (any quiet game is fine) and we will reschedule our mini-golf outing.

Resources for inexpensive books

I want to pass along a few websites that others have shared with me that would be helpful for homeschoolers in that quest for inexpensive good books. We all know that the library is a great resource, but did you know that there is a website that lists used book sales held at libraries? Here is the link:http://www.booksalefinder.com/CT.html
Many of my friends just love Paperback swap. It is a book club where members swap, trade and exchange books. You pay the postage to send out your books, but when you request a book, the sender ships it to you free of charge! Here is the link:http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php

Also, The Farmington Valley Home Educators will be having their
Used Curriculum Sale
 Friday, June 4, 2010
4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
7 Westcott Rd. Simsbury Ct.

**They have a few tables left if anyone has books they want to sell.

Spring Home School Day at Old Sturbridge Village

During Spring Home School Day, May 3, 2010 at Old Sturbridge Village, they offer you and your children the opportunity to visit the Village and join in hands-on activiities and participatory programs.  This is a great opportunity for you and your children to gain exposure to early 19th century spring chores, meet the baby animals and explore how every member of a rural New England family contributed to the success of the coming year. For more information click on this link: http://www.osv.org/orders/listprograms.html?ID=14&G=T
Can't make it for this special day?  Take advantage of their Home School admission rate most weekdays and one Saturday a month. Here is the link to the calendar of days offered at a discount for homeschoolers:
