Every Wednesday starting June 1 from 10:00-whenever...(unless it is really yucky weather)
there are: no fees, no guards, bring floaties, ball
there is: lots to do-(see the website)
hiking, bike trails, usually a pick up frisbee game, soccer, fishing, little critter explorations...and in the past the nature center was in operation with nets, fun stuff to look at...

We congregate with our lunches, kids, good books to share and the expectation that God will be in our midst. Bring friends and come fellowship!!!!

Oceanographic Research Cruise

 Laurie Fraher and 2 other homeschool families are going on this cruise on June 23, 2011, departing at 1:00 p.m. She wanted to let everyone know about this opportunity to study the ocean. There are spots open for this date or if you cannot make that date, there are other dates available. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (860) 445-9007 or (800) 364-8472 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST. Visa or Mastercard is required to hold reservations. AAA discount.

Please arrive a half hour prior to departure.

Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder that the final session for the home school recreation program will begin tomorrow, Friday, May 20th at Star Hill.  This last session will run 5 weeks at a cost of $30 per child.  You can still register online at www.starhillsports.com or walk-ins tomorrow are welcome.  The program runs 12:30-2:00 PM on Fridays.

Calling All Young Entrepreneurs!

Calling All Young Entrepreneurs! New!!  TEACH is offering an opportunity for young entrepreneurs, age 12-20, to showcase their business products or *services as Jr. Vendors at the 2011  Homeschool Convention, June 10th & 11th.   http://teachct.org/2011convention.shtml Great "real world" practice! Criteria to Participate: 1) Participating teens, age 12-20, must be currently homeschooled. 2) Teen is registered, with at least one parent, to attend the conference. Registration Information http://teachct.org/2011convention.shtml 3) The Teen Entrepreneurs Row will only be open during the time periods when keynote speaker Bill Jack is not conducting a speaking session. 4) The Vendor Booth fee is $10, to help cover the cost of the draped tables & chairs supplied to vendors, (considerably less than the normal $100 fee).  The idea is also to have the teen "invested" in their business. 5) If the business is a *service, the teen should have a display board or some method to showcase his/her service --ex: photos, customer testimonials, etc.. as well as business cards or brochures to hand out. 6) Business casual attire and a professional attitude are appreciated.  If you are interested in participating, please e-mail Peter Person teachvendors@teachct.org to receive a vendor packet.   Vendor application & fee must be postmarked by June 3rd to qualify. Don't Delay! Note: Pre-Registration for the Convention --   deadline June 3rd, is required in order to participate.

Home School Recreation Group at 

Star Hill Family Athletic Center starts on
Friday May 20, 2011

Activities will be planned each week on the turf fields, the basketball/volleyball courts, and the indoor track. Children ages 4-15 will enjoy activities in both smaller age-appropriate groups and larger groups. 
BTW.... While the kids are playing, Moms and Dads are welcome to use the track in the dome to get their exercise!
Please note: This session will only be for 5 weeks, from May 20 - June 17, 2011 from 12:30PM until 2:00PM. This will be our last session for this school year. You are required to pre-register on their website, or in person at the facility.  The program costs $30/child for the 5 week program. To register online click on this link:
