Recently I have learned about the CT Institute of History, and would like more people to hear about what they’re doing! I think this is a great asset to us as CT homeschoolers; also, having a live person who is passionate about their subject is a great person to learn from!

upcoming Classical Conversations information meetings
Passing this along from Amy Bassett.....
Classical Conversations currently has three campuses in CT: Fairfield (director-Eva Zaldumbide), Southbury (director-Karen Benater), and Manchester (director-myself, Amy Bassett). These campuses have grown exponentially and we continue to see interest from many homeschooling families in this dynamic program. For the 2013-14 school year we are looking to expand these three campuses to also include Groton/shoreline, Newport, RI, West Hartford, and potentially other areas as well. Some of the other campuses have already been holding information meetings, the Manchester and West Hartford campuses will also be holding meetings several times this spring.
Information meetings are an excellent way to learn more about Classical Conversations as it fits with homeschooling with a biblical worldview, as well as learning more about the classical model of education. These meetings are followed by open houses on the following Thursday to allow parents to see CC in action and how it works. We prefer that families attend an information meeting prior to attending an open house. We anticipate having several more meetings and open houses throughout the spring.
We have two meetings scheduled for the next couple weeks:
1) Tuesday January 29th from 7-9:30pm run by Charlotte Hurst and Jennifer Finney, location TBD, most likely at the Manchester Church of Christ.
2) Tuesday February 5th from 7-9:30pm run by Amy Bassett and Genny Hathaway. Location TBD, most likely in West Hartford.
We will then have open houses at the Manchester campus on Thursday Jan 31st and Thursday February 7th. The Foundations program (ages 4-12) meets from 9am-12pm followed by a brown bag lunch. The Essentials program (ages 9-12) meets from 1-3pm.
If would like more information about the meetings or plan to attend, please contact me at: asmithbassettcnm@gmail.com or at (773) 339-8050.
If you plan to come to an open house, you must register first so that we may plan our supplies and space with the tutors.
You may also visit Classical Conversations for more information at www.classicalconversations.com. I have catalogs available and am happy to distribute them to you on request. You may also request a free catalog on the website.Wishing you all the best on your educational journey, whatever that may be!
