CT Institute of History possible classes survey

Passing this along from Karen Cupit, please contact her if you are interested.......

Recently I have learned about the CT Institute of History, and would like more people to hear about what they’re doing! I think this is a great asset to us as CT homeschoolers; also, having a live person who is passionate about their subject is a great person to learn from!

Please take a look at this class and RSVP to Karen Cupit at cupit_kj@sbcglobal.net or call me at 860-645-1773 if you are a) interested in attending this class, b) not able to attend this class but are interested in classes offered in the future or c) all of the above. I am taking an interest survey so that I can make firm plans.

Date: Tuesday, Feb 19th from 7-8:30 PM
Location: TBD, in Manchester area
Class: for ages 12 and up
Fee: either $5 per person or max. of $10 per family
Class: Connecticut's Genesis, 1614-1639

Hear a Connecticut Historian tell the inspiring stories of:
v The Native Americans that lived on the River
v Adriaen Block’s Exploration of the River
v The First Settlers of Windsor, Hartford and Wethersfield
v Why we are called the Constitution State

We will first learn about Tom and Debbie Berrill and how they began the CT Institute of History, and then have a 1-hour class. This is a great way to learn about what they’re doing and get a taste for what they offer. The series includes 4 classes- we are offering the first and if there is interest, we will schedule the other 3 classes. They also offer on-site tours at historical sights around our state. I will try to post them as I hear of them.
