Our
next boys' 10-14yr(ish) hang-out time will be on Thursday, May 16,
1-3 pm, at
Sunrise Park in Suffield (2075 Mountain Road). We'll meet at the
upper parking
lot next to the pond. Fishing is an option at this park if any of
the boys
want to bring equipment. They should also bring anything else they'd
like to
do (the last meet up they had a baseball game, there was a football
being tossed
around, and some tennis was played). All homeschooled boys ages
10-14 yrs
are welcome to attend, as well as any age/gender siblings. (This is
not a drop-off
event.)
We had a good turn-out last week, 9 families attended for a total of 10 boys in the target range (plus more counting siblings), and everyone seemed to have a great time. The general consensus is that at each meet-up we will discuss and choose the next date/location. We want to do at least one or two more regular meet-ups before the end of this school year, then will pick up again in the fall. During the summer, we will come up with weekly park/water locations where some of the group may be getting together (none of us expect we'll be able to attend every week, but as a basic idea of where there might be some boys of this age gathered).
This is a very informal group RSVPs are not necessary, come if you can! We will stay in touch by posting the dates and locations of the get-togethers on the CT-CHEER,
